This personal photography project highlights the experiences of my youngest child while he learns to cook. Each Tuesday, while his three older brothers are at school, he chooses a recipe and we make it together. He shares his final product with family and friends and loves to tell everyone, “The secret ingredient is love (or Swiss cheese).”

This project is particularly meaningful as it documents special moments with a child that our family refers to as our “icing on the cake” baby. The collection captures the interplay of learning, creativity, and joy from the grocery store to the kitchen, aiming to reflect the lasting impact of these shared moments cooking together.
